"There are two reasons for the [gun] industry support for the NRA. The first is that the organization develops and maintains a market for their products. The second, less direct function, is to absorb criticism in the event of PR crises for the gun industry."

We went to a single-actor production of Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness last night. “The horror! The horror!” I’m looking to HoD for inspiration for my next short story.

Bonus: hanging around Tim Robbins, who is the theater’s director. His performance in Shawshank Redemption is one of my favorites, and inspired my most recent story.

The performance was harrowing, so we went to Coolhaus nearby for ice cream sandwiches. Pretzel Stout! Southern Comfort Cherry Chocolate! Brown Butter Candied Bacon. Good stuffs.

Then she said, “I don’t think I should be this excited over this.” I said, “I can think of few things that make me happier than having a daughter who gets excited about reading modern philosophical works.”
I love my daughter.
